The Easiest 3 Component Banana Oat Meal Cookies.

These Banana Oatmeal Cookies are hands down the best banana flavored cookie I've ever had. Not only are they really moist and simmer for times, but they're unmistakably banana-y.

Banana may be one of these flavors that could get lost when you inhale with it. It can be very delicate flavor. It always bums me out when that happens, because I really like the taste of banana. And thus does the hubs.

When good flavored banana treats come together, we move a little mad for them.

These cookies make the list of banana things to go mad for. Without a doubt.

And they are so moistthey practically melt in your mouth. In addition, using both banana and oats in them, they're basically healthy, right? And perfect for breakfast!

Making them is equally as easy as eating them.

You begin with mixing all of those lovely ingredients together.

I have to warn you. The smell of that mixture -- with all the banana -- is equally intoxicating. The hubs was at the kitchen which makes the dough together with me (we left a bargain that contained him with me) and we had to work hard to not place our faces, or a straw, right in to it.

You then add all of the dry ingredients (which means you simply use one bowl -- yay!) And mix it all together!

To bake them, spoon out about a tablespoon of dough and produce a thick disc, rather than a ball. They spread somewhat when baking, and thus don't put them too close together. Bake them for approximately 10-12 minutes for a fine, moist cookie. So yummy!

1 other thing I really like about this recipe is where it came from.

My grandma (my father's mom) passed out in 2008. After I started draining a lot a few years back, my uncle gave me her cookbook that he'd had didn't use. I have had it in my list to produce several her desserts since.

My dad and I made her gaufrettes (a French cookie -- my great grandparents were French) a year or so ago. It was a custom for my grandma to make them each Christmas! She gave everyone a huge tin of them, which was quite an effort with 6 sons.

I now know just how much of an accomplishment it had been! My goodness. She made them using a traditional gaufrette iron which goes over an open fire. My dad and I had them around the cooker. They cook very quickly and you have to be exact. Too long and they sort of disintegrated into iron. Too long and they burned into the iron and we needed to clean it out.

My dad was Read More Here pouring the batter and taking away the cookies, I had been working the iron, the hubs was time things. It took quite a few attempts to get it , but they were so excellent! I have attempted to create them on my own and it works. I'd really like to share the recipe, but the dang irons are so hard to find. And expensive. Sooner or later, I'd love to just make a cookie with the identical gaufrette flavor.

For now though, I am sharing these cookies. I don't believe I ever had them when she made them, but they're from her book.

It is such a fun recipe book to look through, also. There are many handwritten pages, clippings and paper recipes that were taped into the book. I like the way they used to write recipes at the newspaper -- they'd the individual who submitted it is title and adorable little tales. It's so fun to browse ! What another time in the world!

Anyways, I do not know where this recipe originated from. The paper appears like it was on a flier from their square dancing class or something (they were big into square dancing). It is definitely from West Virginia, where they lived.



Either way, I'm so happy to finally share a recipe out of her novel with you! I made a couple of changes to make them thicker and puffier and they are delicious. There'll be more to come out of her recipe book, but for now like the banana.

MOIST AND CHEWY BANANA OATMEAL COOKIES

Return: 34-36 COOKIES


INGREDIENTS:

3/4 cup salted butter, softened (I use scatter Butter)

1 cup brown sugar, packed

1/2 cup sugar

1 egg

1 teaspoon vanilla extract





1 1/2 tsp cinnamon

1 tsp baking soda

1/4 tsp ground cloves

2 tsp cornstarch

3 cups old fashioned oats

DIRECTIONS:

1. Mix together butter, brown sugar, sugar, egg, vanilla extract and mashed bananas until well combined.

3. Stir in milk.

4. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

5. Spoon tablespoons of dough on a cookie sheet covered with parchment paper. Flatten dough a little bitinto thick discs. They'll spread a little when baked.

6. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges just begin to golden.
